Police Central, Inc. was founded in 1995 and worked with the Savannah Police Department (GA) and the Chatham County Office of the Sheriff (GA) to develop our first version of software. Police Central, Inc. has its roots in a company called Systems Automation, Inc., also headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Systems Automation, formed in 1982 is a major supplier of Computer Graphics equipment and supplies throughout the Southeast.

The first version of Police Central® went through several new releases and concluded with Version 2.5F, and was a traditional client server application. The initial version of software was shipped and was used by a number of jurisdictions in many states.

In October of 1997, Police Central commenced development of our current Version 3 software, and chose to implement a Web-Compliant solution.  We concluded that the very nature of Law Enforcement, and the need to transport information and photographs within a department, to other jurisdictions, and to mobile users was an application exquisitely made for web-based technology. Development of Police Central® Version 3 commenced in late 1997, and the initial product was released in early 1998. The initial release encompassed Arrest & Booking, and other Police Central Modules quickly followed.
