entry of all relevant information. A complete Chain of Custody is maintained for each
evidence and property item, documenting all property movements in and out of the property room.
The current location and status of each item is prominently displayed with the detailed information.
The module provides for automated import of evidence items previously entered in Incident
Reports.
BarCode printing and scanning support is provided, to help automate property room
inventory control.
Case Information and Collections Sections
The Case Information section contains all information pertaining to the overall investigation. This
includes location of the event, case type, assigned officers, dates and times, and narrative. All case
information is fully searchable, with extensive standard reports provided.
The Collection Information section contains pertinent details relating to the circumstances of the
evidence collection at the crime scene.
Items of Evidence Section
As items are entered into the case file, the Evidence & Property module builds a list of property
and related information. Any number of property items may be added to each case, and a complete
case report may be displayed and/or printed listing all items. The Chain of Custody is automatically
updated as each item is moved into or from the property room. This Chain of Custody report may be
printed as needed for courtroom evidence and documentation.
Information associated with any sensitive items such as narcotics, firearms, and money may be
configured to require validation by a second authorized person during any moves affecting the items.
